‘Weekend de l’Excellence Automobile’ Reims - Circuit de Gueux en Champagne
Bonhams is delighted to announce its first sale of fine motor cars and automobilia on Saturday 26 September, at the 3rd ‘Weekend de l’Excellence Automobile’ held on the former French Grand Prix circuit of Reims-Gueux. The ‘Weekend de l’Excellence Automobile’ draws on Reims’ historic association with motorsports as the former site of the French Grand Prix. Today, amidst the historic pits and grandstands at the Circuit de Gueux en Champagne, the Weekend celebrates classic cars and motorcycles from 1925-1969. The introduction of an auction from Bonhams represents the first sale to take place at the event, which otherwise focuses on spectacular demonstrations and displays. Cars already consigned to the Auction include the 1912 Bugatti 5 litre chassis no.471 ex-Ettore Bugatti, estimate €1,800,000 - 2,400,000, a 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K Cabriolet C Estimate: €400,000 - 600,000 and a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL ‘Gullwing’ Estimate: €350,000 - 450,000. Further entries are now invited to this presitigous inaugural auction sale at Reims. |
