Lot 242: 1956 Austin Healey 100M BN2

The Austin Healey 100/4 BN2 was launched in October 1955 and in total 3,924 units were built. The BN2 had a simple box frame chassis and was basically the same as the BN1, but fitted with larger drum brakes and a completely new four speed gearbox with overdrive as standard. The BN designation denoted B for the B class engine, which meant it had a capacity between 2000 and 3000cc and N for the open topped two seater coachwork. The engine was basically an unstressed Austin taxi unit so it was an excellent choice in terms of both reliability and high mileage. It is capable of covering around two hundred thousand miles before wear necessitates a complete overhaul. This beautifully restored example has benefited from a no expense spared restoration in Holland and it is without doubt one of the nicest example Coys has had the pleasure of offering in recent years.Questo magnifico essemplare del Austin Healey, e un raro versione 100 M BN2.
