Lot 127: Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II

After 10 years in production the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow received a bit of an upgrade, mainly to satisfy the American market. The chrome bumpers gave way to composite 5mph impact bumpers and a bib spoiler appear beneath the front bumper. The most significant change was the use of rack and pinion steering, the first on a Rolls-Royce but the introduction of split-level air conditioning was a first for any car. The Shadow II would continue on for another six years, until replaced by the Silver Spirit in 1981. This example is a rarity indeed. Supplied by Caffyns Rolls-Royce in Kent, the car has had just one owner from new and has covered just 24980 miles. The mileage is warranted as correct and is supported by detailed history with Caffyns and Heartlake motors. The car is offered complete with the original bill of sale and owners manuals.
