Lot 406: Lotus Mark I Recreation
An important Auction of Lotus Motor Cars, Coys (30th October 2004)
The car has in fact been accepted by Lotus themselves who have invited the car to feature at presentations and a commemoration that was hosted by themselves with the car on display at the Lotus factory. With the absence of the original car, this is the only such car in existence reproduced faithfully, as detailed in 'The Lotus Book, a complete history of Lotus Cars' by enthusiast, Bill Friend. WF 9672 is supplied with some excellent paperwork to include the original buff log book, a newspaper article, letters from Lotus and race meeting and show programmes, one of which is a VSCC programme which features the car on the front cover
