Lot 18: Mercedes-Benz 300 SL
Classic & Historic, BCA (26th February 2008)
A perennial favourite, the 107 Series Mercedes SLs are renowned for their excellent build quality and durability. A most worthy modern classic, these cars remain a firm favourite with those requiring high performance and the ability to cover long distances with the minimum effort. Amongst the most keenly sought are the 6-cylinder models, which offer plenty of performance whilst returning reasonable fuel economy. Dating from 1987, this example of the 300 SL has been in the hands of its present lady-owner for the past thirteen years. Mechanically, everything is described as being in good working order and the soft top is fitted with a power operation conversion. Finished in red, it is now offered for sale due to the owner's pursuits necessitating a larger vehicle. A file of documentation is provided, which includes details of the power hood, radio instructions, owner's manual and a number of previous MOT certificates. A V5C document is also included, along with a current MOT certificate valid until 31st December 2008. Also supplied is the original toolkit and first aid pack
