Lot 140: Jaguar Sovereign 4.0 Saloon
Classic - Collectors and Historic Motor Cars, Barons (18th March 2008)
First seen in 1986, the all new XJ6 was a total departure from traditional Jaguar styling. Very square in elevation the model came as XJ6 or Sovereign and had either twin headlamps (XJ6) or a single square lamps (Sovereign). Under the bonnet was the new AJ6 engine, which had been tried and tested in the XJS since 1984. There was no V12 version until 1993. Offered here is a late, 4.0 version of the Sovereign, which is finished in deep plum with beige leather and is equipped with all of the usual options associated with the model. Offered complete with an MoT through to March 2009, the car is said to perform very well.
