Lot 205: Bentley Mulsanne S

The new Bentley promised to epitomise the very spirit of Bentley motoring by offering ample performance combined with complete comfort. The Mulsanne (after the Mulsanne Straight at Le Mans) shared the traditional 6.75 litre Rolls-Royce V8 with aluminium alloy cylinder heads, which breathed through two SU carburettors. The SU's were replaced by Bosch fuel injection on all cars from 1986. After 5 years in production the Mulsanne was spiced up with the introduction of the Mulsanne S. Although this model lacked its turbocharger, many of the other details were very similar to the Turbo R, including the alloy wheels and interior. The suspension was firmed up for a more sporting ride and the rectangular headlamps gave way to quad round units for 1989. The model remained in production until 1992. Offered here is a 1990 example, which is said to be complete with full service history and is described as being in very good condition. It is finished in Regency Red with cream hide and is equipped with the usual options associated with this model. Fabulous value and complete with MoT through to May 2010.
