Lot 069: Jaguar E-Type S2 Roadster
Classic Cars & Bikes, Brightwells Auctioneers and Valuers (12th March 2008)
Launched in October 1968, the Series 2 E-Type was a significant improvement on the already fabulous Series 1 thanks to modifications such as twin fans for better cooling, an all-synchro gearbox, better seats, improved switchgear and slightly more room in the cabin.Imported from Indiana, USA, in 1989, this 1969 car was converted to right hand-drive on arrival by Jaguar specialists Whitehouse of Dudley. In the current ownership since 1994, the car has only been very lightly used and is said to drive well with a "very sweet" engine. Described as being in "good overall condition" it has 12 months MOT and tax and comes with various old MOTs back to 1996 and a spare parts catalogue. It looks good value at the guide price suggested today.
