Lot 016: Morris Minor Tourer

The second of the Morris Minor 1000 models in our sale today, this is the desirable Tourer version with a fully retractable canvas roof. Looking most attractive in original Almond Green with light green interior, this 1967 car has spent most of its life in northern England and has obviously been well looked after as evidenced by the condition of the interior and the bodywork which are both described as lovely. The chassis is also said to be very sound and protected by thorough undercoating. The engine and gearbox were both replaced with Unipart Silver Seal units in the mid-1980s when the car had covered some 95,000 miles with documentary evidence to support this. Since then the car has only covered 24,600 miles which is verified by 17 previous MOTs. The car is said to drive very well, feeling very smooth and secure. Always well looked after and thoroughly serviced by the current owner, the car has been kept garaged and has been pampered with Castrol Valvemaster lead replacement additive and Redex. A lockable fuel cap and five nearly new radial tyres are said to be the only modern concessions. With an MOT until June 2010 and taxed until next May, it is ready to drive away today.
