Lot 220: Jaguar XJS 4.0

It may be hard to believe but it is over 30 years since the Jaguar XJS was first introduced. Originally unloved, because it was seen as a poor replacement for the iconic E-Type, which it was never meant to be, the XJS soon won over all those who got to drive one. Most journalists described the model as a superb Grand Touring car and waxed lyrical about its silky ride and turbine-like power.This example is one of the face-lift cars, which benefited from galvanised bodies as part of a redesign package. The car is offered complete with fully stamped service history, in the original service booklet, dating from its initial service at Stratstone (the supplying dealer) and by Jaguar dealers and specialists since.Finished in Solent blue with camel leather, the car is equipped with the usual options, including a/c (working), electric windows and mirrors, cruise control etc and has an immobiliser and both sets of original keys with alarm fobs.
