Lot 105: Triumph 2.0 Roadster

This LWB Marlin Roadster is based on a 1970 Triumph Vitesse 2 Litre. It utilises all the Vitesse components apart from the live rear axle, which is from a Triumph Dolomite Saloon. All the components have been renewed or overhauled as required, including the 6 cylinder, 2 litre engine, which has undergone a major rebuild with carburettor and induction upgrades. All hydraulic systems, wiring, battery etc are said to be new. The car is presented in "As New" condition, having covered only 26 miles since completion of the rebuild, which was carried out by a skilled tool maker. Much stainless steel has been used in the construction including all nuts, bolts and fixings. Offered complete with original build instructions, Marlin Engineering brochure, parts invoices, Vitesse/GT6 workshop manual, suppliers catalogues and a set of 5 Cosmo Ribster alloy wheels, which are equipped with 185 x 70 x 13 tyres. Also supplied is a new dark blue hood, side screens and hood support frame none of which have ever been fitted to the car. The car is registered on the original Triumph V5C document and is therefore road tax exempt and has an MoT through to October 2008. This superbly built Marlin is said to drive very well with exceptional speed and handling. The 2.0, 6 cylinder engine gives a power to weight ratio of well over 150bhp per tonne.
