The 328 can be seen as the ultimate development of the line which began with the 246 GT Dino. The source of its design can not only be seen in the mechanical specification but in its styling too. Race bred independent suspension at every corner endowed this Ferrari with enviable poise and dynamic handling, while the mid mounted 260bhp 3.2 litre V8 engine propelled it to over 150mph with a 0-60mph time of just six seconds. Though not having the ultimate performance of its larger brother the 288 GTO, the 328 earned itself a meretricious reputation for its all round ability. Here was a car that was capable of being driven with complete docility around town, but possessing the potential to see off all opposition on a fast twisty road. When it became time to replace the 328 the task was enormous, the 328 had been by far the most popular model to leave Maranello, a perfect combination of practicality and performance.
