Lot 217: BMW M635 Csi

BMW have come a long way since producing Italian bubble cars under licence. Much of their success has been built on an enviable racing heritage, which, in modern times, began with the 1602 -2002 range. Success in the European and World Touring Car Championship brought instant sales results. The most famous BMW Racer was probably the 3.0 CSL "Batmobile" of the 1970's but the later 635 was equally successful in the hands of drivers like Hans Stuck. Road going "Homologation Specials" gave the public the opportunity to get their hands on some tasty machines. In BMW's case the were the 2002 Turbo, 3.0 CSL, M6 and M3. Offered here is an M6 or M635 Csi. With the 3.5 litre, twin cam, 275bhp Motorsport engine mated to a ZF or Getrag 5-speed gearbox (dog-leg 1st or o/d 5th) The M6 was a potent machine, giving birth to the "Ultimate Driving Machine" advertising campaign of the 1980's. Finished in black with black Recaro leather interior, the car has benefited from new suspension, new brake callipers and pads, new brake discs and stainless steel, sports, exhaust. Described as being in very good condition and not suffering from the usual 6 Series rust problems, the car does retain the all important, original Metric alloy wheels and correct TRX tyres.
