Lot 228: 1956 Fiat 1100 Abarth Van and Trailer - One owner from new

This 1956 Fiat Van and trailer combination provides the ultimate in classic racing car transport. The van and trailer have been subjected to a full restoration by Ferrero of Piecenza which was completed in 2007. Finished in grey and blue this little van is in excellent condition. The complete rig has only had one owner from new, two brothers from Mantova, Emilio and Arnaldo Gobbi. They had a great passion for motor racing and outfitted this rig for them to carry the cars of Scuderia Mantova Corse. The most famous member of The Scuderia Mantova Corse was none other than Tazio Nouvalari. Some of the cars carried in the trailer were Abarth 850TC, Abarth 1000TC and Abarth 1000SP, hence the external Abarth livery.The van and trailer come with the original Italian log book and Italian black registration number plates. This rig would be a great entry to the Goodwood paddock or any other historic event throughout Europe. You might also want to select one of the wonderful Abarth cars on offer today to put in the trailer to complete the Squadra Corse!!!
