Lot 119: Rolls-Royce Corniche Coupe
Classic Cars, Barons (24th October 2006)
An outstanding example of an early Corniche, as opposed to a MPW FHC. 1970/71 was the first year of the Corniche, when the main production was taken in-house and the finishing touches were carried out by MPW.This superb example is offered complete with extensive history in support of the 33600 recorded miles and the original ownership of Sir Richard Attenborough. The car was supplied through Jack Barclay but the build sheet shows that the coachwork was not painted by Rolls-Royce but was done, as a special order, by an outside contractor, in a colour specified by Sir Richard.Finished in BRG with, virtually new, magnolia hide, piped green, the car is an outstanding example in every way. With such a low, warranted, mileage, the build history, the superb condition and its illustrious history, this Corniche is a rare find indeed.
