Lot 412: Lotus Etna
An important Auction of Lotus Motor Cars, Coys (30th October 2004)
The Etna was first shown at the 1984 British Motor Show to enthusiastic reviews from the motoring press as Lotus' future supercar for a 1986 introduction. But sadly it remained a show car rather than a project car that would eventually reach production. Lotus MD Mike Kimberley described it as a "realistic supercar addition to the Lotus range" and two years later was still postulating an annual production run of 200 Etnas
