Lot 388: 1979 Triumph 750cc Bonneville T150
A Sale of Important Motorcycles and Motorcars, Bonhams (25 October 2008)
The oil in the frame Triumph Twins were the last of the Meriden motorcycles to roll off the production line. They first appeared in 1971 as 650cc models, enlarging to 750cc in 1973. During the seventies there were many improvements made, and by the end of the decade, Triumph had again captured the imagination of bike fans. The T140D, considered the more stylistically appealing of the variations, was a special edition with magnesium wheels and is fitted with the pear–shaped USA edition gas tank. Of 750cc displacement and featuring a 5-speed transmission, this later incarnation of the vaunted Bonneville is attracting growing appreciation. This example of a limited edition appears all original showing only 2869 miles.
