Lot 180: 1956 Puch 49cc VS50D Moped
Professor Fritz Ehn Motorcycle Museum Collection, Bonhams (30th June 2008)
Austrias Puch concern, so noted in Europe for the quality construction of its two-wheelers, maintained a range of 50cc mopeds, to widely varying specification depending on the perceived market. At the top of the range technically, powered by their un-burstable, fan-cooled two-stroke was the VS 50 D. With full suspension and three twist-grip gears, this was a luxury moped, sadly imported only for one year, 1956, to the UK. The museums example, with only 8000 km. recorded, is as near to a showroom vehicle as an un-restored fifty-year-old two-wheeler is likely to be. In its original paint and chrome and said to be ready to go, subject to checks, it is offered with Austrian Typenschein.
