Lot 201: 1957 NSU 150cc Prima
Collectors' Motorcycles, Bonhams (19th October 2008)
As a cross between heavyweight German and lightweight Italian, the Lambretta-sourced NSU ‘Prima’ would be hard to beat. The build quality of the NSU was first-class and it was comfortable and easy to drive, leading to very good sales and a succession of models. NZ 9372, as can be seen, is in weathered condition, though believed to be complete. It will not be an easy rebuild, though scooters’ mechanical parts are normally well-protected by their bodywork. Given time and enthusiasm, this barn-find ‘Prima’ should soon be able to return to the road, spares being readily available.
It is complete with a V5.
