Lot 201: 1963 Rover 95

The Rover 95 was introduced in 1963 alongside the 110 model and was an unplanned extension due to the delays in introduction of the Rover 2000. It was more powerful then the Rover 80 which it replaced and the power unit was essentially the same as the Rover 100 with a few internal detail changes mainly inspired by the parallel development of the Rover 3-litre and the contemporary Rover 110. It developed 102 bhp and could reach 93 mph.A small production run of only 3,680 Rover 95's were produced and the last 95 was produced in May 1964.This car, dating from 1963 features the desirable aluminium doors, boot lid and bonnet that were subsequently changed on later models to steel a year later in 1964. With the present owner for the last 40 years, KGJ 657A is supplied with a current MoT valid until January 2008, a V5 document, old MoT's, an original Distributors and Dealers handbook, workshop manual and a handful of bills.
