Lot 616: Ferrari 365GTC/4 Coupe
Collectors' Motor Cars, Bonhams & Butterfields (30th April 2005)
The ex-Bill Harrah Ferrari 365GTC/4 chassis number ‘15479’ is documented in the Ferrari Market Letter archives as Bill Harrah’s personal car. It was ordered for Mr. Harrah in Ferrari Red with a complete black velour interior that it retains today. Meticulous maintenance and loving care characterize this car’s history throughout the 54,574 original miles recorded, and its current owner has sustained this fastidious approach since 1994. Major servicing/detailing was undertaken recently by Ayer’s European Auto Restoration, correcting minor finish flaws, converting the air conditioning system to the much more user-friendly R-134, engine and brake servicing with all fluid replacements as well as comprehensive systems inspection and testing. Being the favourite ‘driver’ in the owner’s extensive collection, this 365GTC/4 has run the New England Rally in Nova Scotia, as well as several other Ferrari Club events, and is the car of choice for any extended drives.
This Ferrari comes with the complete original tool kit, jack roll, tools and original owners manuals in the Ferrari Schedoni leather pouch. Tires are Michelin XWX with nearly 3/4 life remaining, all mounted on the original Cromodora alloy rims. Starting instantaneously and sounding as sweet as any Ferrari ever produced, the V12 engine pulls effortlessly to the red line in all gears with the chassis responding as Enzo had intended. The ride is supple and makes for extremely pleasant high-speed grand touring, especially with the creature comforts of fully functioning air conditioning, power-assisted steering and brakes, and power windows. In true grand touring style the trunk is quite spacious and will accommodate golf clubs as well as other luggage. If more space is required the rear seatbacks fold down to provide additional storage.
The 365 GTC4 is truly the ‘gentleman’s’ Ferrari with all of the heritage and performance that one associates with the marque from Maranello.
