The appeal of the Jaguar Mk 2 range has transcended the years and they are as popular and sought after now as they were in their heyday 45 years ago.� In terms of performance, the 3.8 was a class leader with vivid acceleration and a top speed in excess of 125mph and, as with all Jaguars throughout the years, the Mk 2 range represented exceptional value for money.� In 1962 a 3.8 automatic transmission was priced at �1984 11s. 5d.  considerably less than any other luxury motor car offering such performance.An early example of the Mk 2, this 3.8 dates from 1960 and is attractively finished in Carmine Red with cream interior trim.� Fitted with the manual gearbox with overdrive, the car has been in the hands of its present custodian since 1995 during which time it has been enthusiastically maintained.� During 1996 the bodywork restoration was undertaken by noted specialists, Coopercraft, and considerable subsequent work has been undertaken by them.� (Invoices are supplied.)� A full comprehensive list of work undertaken is available for inspection so we would advise interested parties to request access to this at viewing.� Previous MOT certificates whilst in the current ownership are also provided along with a statement of build from Jaguar Cars, current MOT certificate valid until 9th April 2008 and a V5 registration document.�A pleasing example of this perennial favourite Jaguar, which is sure to provide considerable enjoyment to its new owner.
