Lot 58: Jaguar E-Type Series III Roadster

Sale of pre-war and Thoroughbred Motor Cars, BCA (7th June 2007)

Easily identified by virtue of its longer wheelbase, flared arches and much larger air intake grille, the Series III was the final derivative of the legendary E-Type.  The production run lasted for four years from 1971 to 1975.  Though far more sophisticated than the original incarnation, the Series III nevertheless retained unmistakable style and curvaceous beauty. Never restored, just carefully kept, this one-registered-owner example of the Series III Roadster is finished in white and has the manual gearbox, wire wheels and optional hard-top.  Offered with extensive service history and the original bill of sale, the car is reported to have covered just over 44,000 miles.  As would be expected, it is said to be in good mechanical order in every department.  The black leather upholstery remains original while the hood would appear to have been replaced at some point.  Whitewall tyres complement the car, which is an original UK specification model. Along with the service history come a registration document and current MOT certificate.
