Lot 16: Jaguar E-Type S1 OTS
Sale of pre-war and Thoroughbred Motor Cars, BCA (7th June 2007)
Developed from the legendary D-Type sports racing Jaguars of the 1950s, the E-Type took the world by storm at its launch in March 1961 at the Geneva Motor Show. Today, some 46 years later, it is true to say that the car's sensational shape has lost none of its appeal. Indeed, its styling has proved truly timeless.Offered for sale due to bereavement, this particular E-Type was manufactured during 1964 and is seemingly very correct. It retains its original Moss gearbox a major part of the character of the early models with its characteristic sound and is reported to drive very well, being good and taut. Extensively restored some twenty years ago, the car is still in good presentable order and is offered with its original and highly distinctive registration number, 821 KOP.Documentation comprises a file of bills etc. including all previous MOT certificates, registration document and current MOT certificate, this being valid until 19th September 2007.
