Lot 119: Jaguar E-Type S2 2+2

After wowing the worlds press and customers alike for 5 years with the E Type FHC and Roadster, Jaguar launched the family mans E Type in 1966. This new E Type had a longer wheelbase and steeply raked front screen to allow for the higher roof line. Jaguar managed to squeeze a fold away rear seat rear seat, which could accommodate two small children and also provide occasional seating for two adults over short distances. This new, 2+2 configuration meant that the family man could now enjoy E Type motoring without feeling guilty and when used as a two seater, there was acres of luggage space.The example offered here has been in the same ownership for 20 years, during which it has been fully restored and subsequently kept in immaculate condition. Always garaged when not in use and only used for high days and holidays, in fine weather, the car is presented in superb order.Finished in midnight blue with tan leather, the car is equipped with the 4.2 litre XK engine, which is mated to a 4 speed manual transmission.
