Lot 1144: 500cc New Hudson
Cambridge Vintage Sale, Cheffins (16 October 2009)
The Birmingham based firm of New Hudsons output of motorcycles really ceased in the 1930's but their pre-war machines were powered by their own engines and this 500cc example harks from that era. The private vendor informs us that the Stoke-on-Trent registered machine has recently had the 3 speed Armstrong hub professionally rebuilt along with new rims and tyres. Importantly the machine is supplied with a Pioneer Certificate giving prospective buyers the confidence that the machine has been scrutinised for authenticity. Consigned from a private collection where it has been on static display with the occasional start up only, a V5C is present on this very presentable flat tank machine
