By placing the light alloy Buick-developed V8, sourced from GM's marine division, in the P5 saloon, Rover transformed its luxury saloon into a sprightly sporting express that found favour with many, including the Royal Family, and was often adopted as the car for Cabinet Ministers. Dating from 1971 this example is finished in Maroon with a Sand leather interior and is apparently a solid and sound example that would benefit from some cosmetic improvement. Recently recommissioned following long-term storage from 1991, new tyres, brakes and an exhaust system have been fitted and the car is said to run very well. An MOT certificate to January 2007 is present, along with a V5C document and a history comprising many invoices
