Lot 024: 1970 MG B GT
Classic Cars, H&H Classic Auctions Ltd (8th June 2005)
The vendor tells us that following the replacement of various panels during a full rebuild two years ago, the 2+2 fixed head has been repainted in what he claims is the original Old English White and the chromework has been renewed. There is a full black leather interior with seats piped in contrasting white, whilst the engine bay has been detailed. Both the 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine and the four-speed manual gearbox, which has the benefit of the desirable overdrive, are reportedly in excellent condition too.
Said to be a pleasure to drive and show-ready, the coupe has only just been successfully MOT tested, so the current certificate will be valid until May of next year. An MGB, particularly a GT, is an entirely practical classic to own and, if required, could always become a daily driver.
