Lot 229: 1996 Jaguar XJ6 3.2
Fine Motor Cars And The Jaguar Legend, Coys (24th June 2006)
Jaguar introduced the XJ6 to universal acclaim in September of 1968. The car was revised several times during the years to follow, resulting in three different styles later named the Series I (1968-1973), Series II (1973-1979) and Series III (1979-1986). The new cars introduced in 1986 were also marketed by Jaguar as "XJ6" but true Jaguar enthusiasts refer to them by their Jaguar internal designation of XJ40. In 1994 yet another update was introduced, this car was (and still is) marketed as the "XJ6" but again enthusiasts refer to it by its Jaguar internal designation of X300. Despite its modern und up to date mechanics, they still provided the classic Jaguar looks and the sophistication many a prime minister and captians of industry enjoyed and still do.The car on offer here today is one such X300 and with just over 51,000 miles recorded, represents a luxury car just getting into its stride. N64 PTY has been extremely well looked after, described by the vendor as being immaculate in every respect. Any prospective purchaser can be reassured also, that this level of care and attention has been attributed to the car for its entire life, as the vendor has been the only owner since its purchase 10 years ago. Finished in Classic British Racing Green with Ivory interior, it is MoT'd and taxed until April of next year. A potentially cheap and troublefree entry into luxury Jaguar motoring.
