The journalist is wowed by the ride quality and all-round performance of this new Jaguar, as would all those who tested the model over the coming months.The new model was, of course, the XJ6, which was often awarded the accolade of the "Best Car in the World" and formed the basis of the Jaguar saloon range for the next 20 years.By 1987, the XJ6 had been through two design changes and the 4.2 version had been dropped but the V12 continued through until 1993, when it to was finally replaced by the XJ40 6.0.Offered here is 1984, 4.2 Sovereign, which has been in the current ownership for 19 years and was previously owned by a major pharmaceutical company and chauffeur driven for the first 4 years of its life.
