Lot 407: Lotus F1 102 D/1
An important Auction of Lotus Motor Cars, Coys (30th October 2004)
This particular car is very special indeed as it is believed to be the very car in which two-times world champion Mika Hakkinen made his Formula 1 Grand Prix debut at the 1991 Gran Prix in Phoenix, Arizona where he qualified 13th. This is of even greater importance as Mika Hakkinen only ever raced in Formula 1 for Lotus and McLaren-Mercedes, who famously do not sell their cars, making this a very special opportunity to acquire one of the very few Mika Hakkinen racing cars available on the market today
