Lot 22: MG MIDGET 1500

The most enduring of all MG model designations, the first 'M' Type Midget made its debut at the 1928 Motor Show, with a price tag of �175. Apart from a short break between 1955, when production of the 'TF' ceased, and 1961, the Midget name was to remain in the MG line- up until the end of 1979. Always great fun to drive and appealing to all ages, the Midget remains a firm favourite today, benefiting from excellent club support and being very economical to run. One of the very last of the line, this example was first registered on 12th March 1980. Clearly it has been cherished as it is said to be in quite exceptional condition and has covered just 24,000 miles from new. Finished in white with black interior, the car is said to be mechanically good, as would be expected after such little use. A brake overhaul has recently been carried out and a servo has been fitted. Reported to have been used only in fine weather, the car has covered only about 200 miles during the past two years. A rare opportunity, this Midget is offered with an extensive file of documentation, which includes all service bills, driver's manual and V5C, along with a current MOT certificate valid until May next year.
