This 1964 example of the Mk 1 MG 1100 features the transversely mounted 1098cc 55 bhp twin carburettor engine and Alec Moulton's 'Hydrolastic' suspension, which gives a very smooth ride.
Having covered some 70,000 miles in its forty five year life, JMV452B was given a bottom up rebuild by its previous owner, The vehicle has been regularly serviced since ownership in 2008 and always garaged. The purchase of another 1100 to add to the present owner's collection forces this very reluctant sale.
The present owner advises that whilst in generally good condition, a new purchaser would be advised to replace the cylinder head gasket and consider sourcing a donor gearbox to replace a very occasional reluctant change into third gear.
With these accepted issues, this car is guaranteed to bring 'smiles per gallon' and has been a much-admired regular attendee at various classic car shows in the South of England.
