Lot 302: c.1958 Francis-Barnett 197cc Falcon
Collectors' Motorcycles, Bonhams (21st October 2007)
Francis-Barnett had always been renowned for their lightweight machines, which, for many years, had been named after birds. After ceasing motorcycle production during the Second World War, they returned during 1946 and unveiled the Falcon as their contender in the 197cc class. This rather sad example is basically complete but has suffered from poor storage conditions following what may have been the start of a rebuild, or, at least, a re-paint. Suitable as the basis of a rebuild project or as a source of spares for the make, the little Fanny-B is sold without reserve.
