Lot 15: 1972 Daimler Double Six Series I V12 Saloon
Best of British Festival, Bonhams (28th May 2006)
First registered ‘CUF 126L’ and sold new via Moores of Brighton to Lyndale Developments for the use of company chairman H C Gilbert, this Series I (short wheelbase) Double Six was later re-registered and transferred to Mr Gilbert’s private ownership. Used up to June 1986, by which time it had covered approximately 18,500 miles, the car was then stored until December 2002. Marque specialists, M & C Wilkinson, of Bawtry refurbished all mechanical elements and executed a major service to return it to first class condition. Subsequently the car was seized by its owner’s administrators and good title passed to M & C Wilkinson (letter of confirmation available). The car is offered with Jaguar service history to 6,352 miles, Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust production record, expired MoTs confirming mileage (currently 21,691 miles), Swansea V5 and fresh MoT. A genuine low-mileage vehicle, completely original apart from a re-spray, this is surely one of the best of its kind currently available.
