Jaguar's legendary and immortal E Type needs no introduction and from its launch in 1961 it has continued to receive huge priase and admiration from all that experience it. Motoring journalists continue to fill coloum inches and enthusiasts often wax lyrically about the superb performance and graceful beauty of the Malcolm Sayer design. The most easily recognisable of all classic cars, it has become quite simply the motoring icon of its age, and within a production run that spanned twenty years and many revisions, Jaguar managed to produce an E Type model to suit all tastes and requirements. This wonderful example of the unforgettable Jaguar E-Type, a Series II 2+2 model, has come to us from a collection of over 30 cars. Finished in red with black interior, the car is presented in good overall condition and is fitted with the desirable manual gearbox. La E-Type fu una vettura rivoluzionaria per quanto riguarda la progettazione, le caratteristiche di guida e l'estetica che era in anticipo rispetto ai tempi nei quali la vettura venne presentata. Inoltre il suo prezzo era pi basso di quello delle vetture pari classe della concorrenza e questo aiut le vendite che, nei 14 anni nei quali rimase in produzione, arrivarono a 70.000 vetture. Nel 2004 la rivista statunitense Sports Cars International la mise al primo posto tra le Top Sport Cars degli anni sessanta. In Italia, prima di diventare oggetto di culto per amatori, divenne famosa in quanto era la macchina del famoso personaggio dei fumetti Diabolik. La E-type fu inizialmente progettata per essere una coupé gran turismo sportivo a due posti e cos venne presentata al pubblico.
