Lot 124: Jaguar XK150 3.8 FHC

The 150 was the final incarnation of the 1948 introduced Jaguar XK Sports Car. Replacing the XK140 in 1957, the 150 was an altogether more refined and comfortable option, which was faster and stopped better, due to its all disc brake set up. Some purists turn up their noses at the 150 but for those of us who actually love the looks and like to enjoy the driving experience, the XK150 offers a great compromise, with excellent performance. In this the 60th anniversary year of the XK, were are pleased to offer two examples of the 150 derivative. This 150 3.4 FHC has been the subject of a recent and comprehensive restoration with the proviso that the car was to retain as much of the original patina as possible.The car has benefited from a full repaint, in the original Sherwood Green, new brakes all round, new or refurbished chrome, new wire wheels and tyres, new headlining and reconnolising of the leather, refurbished gauges, new fuel tank and much in the way of mechanical fettling. The car is offered in outstanding condition and is equipped with the 3.8 engine, which is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission with additional overdrive. The sole reason behind the sale is the lack of time the vendor has to use the car.
