Lot 01: Volkswagen Beetle 1303

A true twentieth century motoring icon, the venerable Beetle is a familiar sight the world over. Its reliability and strength have become the stuff of legend and its appeal has transcended the years. Production ceased in Germany during 1978 although the Beetle continued to be built at the Mexican and Brazilian assembly plants. A 1303 dating from 1974, this example is finished in metallic blue and was the property of the late husband of the vendor for some six years. A new engine is reported to have been fitted in November 2000 and the car is said to be in good order throughout mechanically. It is offered for sale with an MOT certificate valid until May 2007, along with a registration document.
