Alfa Romeo's Sprint Speciale series first appeared in 1957. With its streamlined bodywork it bore a marked resemblance to some of the marque's earlier competition designs, particularly the famous Disco Volante sports-racer, not to mention the BAT 9 show car. This Alfa Romeo Giulietta SS was comprehensively restored in 1998 and professionally rebuilt as a racing car by noted Italian experts Gianni Giudici and Mario Galbiatti, who prepared the chassis and the body while the engine was trusted to noted Alfa Romeo engine guru Angelo Chiapparini. As a result of this meticulous preparation this stunning Giulietta won the Italian GT Championship every single year from 1999 to 2005 with drivers Gianni Giudici and Pierangelo Masselli.
