Lot 111: 1995 Porsche 911 / 993 Carrera Cup Car

Built in 1995 this genuine factory 993 Carrera Cup car competed in every round of the 1995 German Carrera Cup, and had the distinction of coming second overall at the hands of Oliver Mathai. From then the car received a comprehensive engine re build by Hans Schroder to 325bhp, and has recently had fresh paint. It comes with a small history file containing its German FIA papers and is described by the owner as in excellent condition.These cars were factory built to a high specification and were destined for the super cup one make series sponsored by Porsche. An entry level race car they boasted a whole host of race developed extras. Powered by a version of the 3.8 litre varioram engine with twin plugs and higher compression, sports exhaust, competition clutch and a six speed gearbox, the car was considerably lighter than the standard Carrera and with 310 Bhp was good for 172 Mph and 0-60 in 4.8 secs. As with all race cars they were equipped with a full roll cage, safety harness, fire extinguishers and one Recaro race seat.Blistering performance and superb handling were all part of the package, and we understand that fresh from its second place in the German championship this car went on to compete in the GTP series.
