Lot 217: 1977 Aston Martin V8 Saloon

This right-hand drive Aston Martin V8 saloon has been in the current owner’s possession for the past 10 years, during which time it has been regularly serviced at his Mercedes-Benz dealership. New inner and outer sills were fitted two years ago and the clutch, steering rack, brake servo, exhaust manifolds and alternator also have been replaced in addition to the usual service items. The vendor advises us that the engine has ‘always run like clockwork’ and that the mileage total of circa 62,000 is verified by the accompanying expired MoTs and letters of correspondence from each of the previous owners. Eight years ago the car underwent a bare metal re-spray in Winchester Blue at the vendor’s Mercedes-Benz-approved body shop and comes with a photographic album recording the progress of the work. At around the same time the interior was reupholstered in matching navy blue leather and a new headlining installed. ‘VUY 98R’ has the factory-option sunroof and the desirable ZF five-speed manual transmission, a relatively unusual combination. The vendor advises us that, having recently acquired a fresh MoT certificate, the car is ready to enjoy and while not ‘concours’, is in highly useable condition, ready for daily motoring.
