Lot 237: 1975 Puch 49cc Maxi S
Collectors' Motorcycles, Bonhams (19th October 2008)
Certainly the most popular product made by Steyr-Daimler-Puch was the diminutive ‘Maxi’ moped, current for many years and the natural successor to the NSU ‘Quickly’ for strength and reliability.
Exported to many countries in very large numbers, the various varieties of ‘Maxi’ put Puch on the two-wheeler map. This is an example of the ‘Maxi S’, a variant with more power and full suspension. Complete, in original paint and appearing to be in good condition complete with a top-box, the ‘Maxi’ should soon be capable of resuming its economical transport role and being welcomed into the NACC ranks. No papers had been found at the time of cataloguing.
