In the latter half of 1997, some of the features from the Bentley Continental T became available on the new Bentley Turbo RT, which replaced the Bentley Turbo R. With a 400 bhp V8 under the bonnet, offering maximum torque of 590 lb/ft (800 Nm), available between 2000 and 3450 rpm, the experience of driving a Bentley RT was almost outside the normal terms of reference, the car was simply amazing The new Turbo RT's specification included a radiator mesh grille and colour-coded bumpers with bright mesh inserts. The new Bentley Turbo RT, retailing at a fraction below �150,000, could, of course, be specified with a vaned grille, as an extra. The example offered here has covered just 34000 miles from new and is complete with full service history, including a recent major service by independent specialist Nigel Sandel costing �4000+. Finished in dark metallic red with saville grey hide, the car is equipped with all of the options associated with the model and is in the condition one would expect of a 34000 miles motor car. The RT is quite a rare sight on the UK's roads as there were just 50 examples built for the world market. The 400bhp V8 is capable of propelling the car from 0 to 60 in just 6 seconds and the top speed is governed to 155mph.
