Lot 248: Jaguar E Type Series 2 Fixedhead Coupe
True Greats, Coys (4th December 2004)
Classically finished in red with black leather interior this lovely series 2 is described by the vendor as in very good general condition. The car is showing a mere 36,000 miles which is believed genuine as it has amazingly been owned by the same family from new, passing title from husband to wife in 1984 having been registered new on the 4th November 1970. In E Type terms the series 2 has never received the adulation it really deserves, unfair perhaps as the car has a better engine, gearbox and brakes of the earlier cars, but fortunately not the price tag. This well presented and genuine E Type is a very fine example of an affordable true British classic.
