Lot 212: 1995 Aston Martin DB7 Volante S

AutoSport 2008, Coys (12th January 2008)

1995 Aston Martin DB7 Volante S
The Aston Martin DB7 was a manufactured from September 1994 to December 2003, a grand tourer available either as a coupe or as a convertible. It debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1993, this six cylinder model fitting into the Aston Martin range below the hand-built V8 Virage introduced six years earlier. It would become the most successful Aston Martin model ever, with more than 7,000 DB7s built before it was replaced by the DB9. Styled by Ian Callum, the DB7 is widely considered one of the most beautiful and timeless of automotive designs. The convertible Volante version was unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in 1996. Under the bonnet is a supercharged, straight six engine that produces 335bhp. But the DB7 Volante is not all about speed. Lower the suede-lined power hood and one has a stunning grand tourer with room in the boot for two sets of golf clubs. Despite losing its roof, there's no scuttle shake in the svelte Volante. Topless or otherwise, the cabin is an oasis of timeless good taste that looks and feels exactly as one would expect of a £90,000 car; expensive, with lashings of real star quality. Manufactured in 1995 this 'S' version is presented in very good condition with Cheviot Red paintwork and Ivory Connolly leather interior. With only 34,000 miles on the odometer, this evolution Special Development vehicle features a lightweight body with Vantage grill, walnut steering wheel and titanium pedals. The engine benefited from a full rebuild in December 2005. Complete with a V5 registration document and a MoT test certificate valid for seven months, this desirable soft-top Aston Martin with manual gearbox provides performance and style in abundance.
