Lot 29: MG B LIMITED EDITION ROADSTER
Vintage, Classic & Collectors's Motor Vehicles, BCA (27th November 2007)
Although production of the MG B ceased on 23rd October 1980, it was not until February 1981 that Limited Edition models were announced to commemorate the end of this great line. One thousand vehicles were produced with an equal split of roadsters and GTs, with roadsters being finished in metallic Bronze whilst GT versions were in Pewter, with both versions having distinctive side striping. Alloy wheels similar to those used on the Triumph Stag were fitted although some 212 examples of the roadster were fitted with wire wheels. This example of the Limited Edition Roadster is described by its vendor as being in good mechanical order in all respects with a new overdrive unit having been recently fitted. A stainless steel exhaust system is also a recent replacement as is the mohair hood. First registered on 27th January 1982, the car has wire wheels and is said to drive extremely well.
