Lot 05: Lancia Flavia Zagato
Announced in 1960, the Flavia was to cause something of a sensation, being the first front-wheel-drive car to be built in Italy. Featuring a flat four engine, this new model was entirely different from previous Lancia offerings and was available with 1.5 and 1.8-litre power units. The four-door saloon was joined by an attractive coupé in 1962 and following on from this were the more exotic Vignale Convertible and Zagato Sport Coupé models. Rarely seen nowadays, it is a 1965 example of the Zagato we offer today. Powered by the 1.8-litre engine, this motor car is finished in red and has tan interior trim. In its late owner's hands for some thirty years, the vehicle was last used on an almost daily basis around ten years ago before a brake fault was discovered. It was subsequently dry stored and has been recently recommissioned, the brakes overhauled and MOT'dThis rare right-hand-drive Flavia Zagato must represent a rare opportunity for the Lancia enthusiast. It is offered with a Swansea registration document and MOT certificate valid until May next year
