- Same engine as legendary BMW M1 supercar - Two owners from new; just over 61,500 miles - A well maintained and presented rust-free Arizona car - A desirable Euro-spec car with European bumpers

For legions of BMW enthusiasts, the stellar Paul Bracq-designed E24 6-series coupe, introduced in 1976 to replace the outgoing 3.0 CS and CSL models, remains one of the marque's finest models. In 1983, BMW unveiled the ultimate specification of the series, designated the M635CSi. Specially outfitted by BMW's M (Motorsport) division with the 3.4-liter DOHC six-cylinder engine of the M1 supercar, the M6 (as it was named in the U.S.) remains both the ultimate high-speed BMW of the 1980s and an enduring performance and status symbol of its era.

Only 4,088 examples of the M635CSi, or M6, were produced between 1983 and 1988. In addition to the uprated DOHC 24-valve six-cylinder engine of the M1, the M635CSi included a deep front air dam, sport suspension and limited-slip rear differential, as well as a set of fat Michelin TRX tires on alloy wheels. Optional amenities included rich Nappa leather upholstery, alternatively known to BMW aficionados as 'Buffalo hide,' power-operated front seats, a dedicated rear air-conditioning unit and even a central beverage chiller.

This particular European-specification 1985 M6 is a two-owner example that has never been winter driven and shows just over 61,500 well-maintained miles. It comes out of Arizona, where the dry climate has contributed to a car that is rust free and in superb condition. Equipped with air conditioning and the aforementioned 'Buffalo hide' interior upholstery, it requires nothing to be enjoyed with pride and is offered complete with a tool kit and a correct spare tire and wheel assembly. A great example of one of the most sought-after and satisfying modern BMW performance models in today's collector car market, this M6 is truly deserving of its title, The Ultimate Driving Machine.
