Lot 476: Alfa Romeo Sprint Speciale Coup�

This rare, right-hand drive Giulia Sprint Speciale was acquired by vendor's late husband from a Mr Gavin Maxwell (who had owned it since 1998) in February 2001. Used sparingly thereafter, 'MLG 819C' has been in storage since it was last taxed for the road in 2004 and may well have been got running by time of sale. The car appears complete although there is rust evident in places and surface pitting on the brightwork. All glass and switchgear appears present, as is the radio, while the interior is aged but undamaged. The body likewise seems fairly good apart from the aforementioned corrosion. The car comes with its original old-style logbook showing that it was new to the UK market and first owned by a Mr Clifford Moss of Frodsham, Cheshire. 'MLG 819C' also has its original service voucher book with many stamps up to 1968, at which time the mileage was 22,500. The mileage reading now is 39,629 (we assume it has gone around the clock, but cannot say for sure). There are sundry past MoTs on file, one of which, dated 1999, records the mileage as 37,821, while sundry invoices include one for an engine overhaul in 1998 at 35,000 miles.
