Lot 101: Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0

Classic Cars, Barons (24th October 2006)

Designed by Pininfarina and first seen as the Duetto in 1966, the Alfa Spider acquired a cult following after appearing in the movie The Graduate, which starred Dustin Hoffman and Anne Bancroft. The original Boat Tail design of the Duetto was dropped in the late sixties, in favour of a more aerodynamically efficient Kamm Tail. A this time a 1962cc version also became available. The model continued in production for over 27 years, until the early nineties, with only detail changes to the original 1966 Pinifarina design. This 1984 example has the 2.0 litre, twin cam engine, mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. The car is RHD, has blue leather interior, Cromadora alloy road wheels, wood rim steering wheel and an excellent, mohair, hood. Said to be in good condition, the car has covered a warranted 95,000 miles and has service history, including the original service booklet and a number of invoices
